A full-length sizing die is engineered to resize the entire cartridge case, as opposed to just the neck. In contrast to neck-sizing dies, which only resize the neck portion, full-length sizing dies offer versatility and are compatible with any rifle chambered for the same cartridge. Upon firing a cartridge, the brass case expands to conform to the rifle's chamber. Post-firing, the case contracts slightly but may not revert to its original dimensions.
