Katadyn Vario Microfilter is a field-adaptive water filtration system engineered for reliable performance across both clear and highly turbid water sources. The unit incorporates a dual-stage filtration design, combining a cleanable ceramic prefilter with a glassfiber membrane to deliver microbiological protection while maintaining low pump resistance. In "Longer Life" mode, water passes through the ceramic disk first to reduce sediment load and extend filter lifespan in dirty conditions. In "Faster Flow" mode, water bypasses the ceramic stage, enabling flow rates of up to 2 liters per minute for rapid filtration in clearer sources.An integrated activated carbon granulate stage reduces chemicals while improving taste and odor, supporting overall water quality. The dual piston pump mechanism ensures continuous flow with minimal effort during operation. The filter features an integrated thread compatible with wide-mouth bottles, including Nalgene, and includes an outlet hose with a bottle clip for flexible filling. Replaceable components include the ceramic disk, glassfiber cartridge with activated carbon, and carbon granulate refills, supporting long-term usability in outdoor and emergency scenarios.
