Forward Controls Design ABC/R v3 5.56 Bolt Catch / Release Serrated, Non-Offset - ABC/R v3 0B Serrated

The Forward Controls Design ABC/R v3 Augmented Bolt Catch/Release is a purpose-built upgrade for compatible 5.56mm AR-15 and M16 lower receivers. The ABC/R design increases the usable surface area of both the upper and lower paddles while improving tactile separation between controls, helping make bolt catch and release manipulation easier to identify by feel. This 0B non-offset version keeps the upper paddle centered rather than shifting it forward or rearward. The paddle features a serrated texture for added traction, while the enlarged lower paddle projects farther from the receiver and uses an angled profile to provide additional accessible surface area. The notch above the lower paddle also provides a tactile index point that helps distinguish the control without requiring the shooter to look away from the firearm. The ABC/R v3 also incorporates a magazine follower trip that is approximately 0.01 inch longer than a TDP-spec bolt catch. Forward Controls Design developed this change to improve engagement on some receivers where dimensional variation can prevent a standard bolt catch from reliably reaching certain magazine followers. Designed around TDP-spec 5.56mm AR-15/M16 receivers, the ABC/R is not intended for 9mm PCC receivers due to the wide variation in their bolt catch geometry and dimensions. The ABC/R family is machined from 8620 alloy steel, heat treated, and finished for durable duty-oriented use.
