These brass cones significantly reduce the risk associated with lathe-turning a barrel that already has a finished crown. Prior to fluting, chambering, polishing or threading for a muzzle brake, insert a Crown Saver between the muzzle and the lathe or mill center. This ensures that the rifling remains undamaged and the crown is not marred. Each brass cone is precisely machined to a concentricity of 0.0002 inches or less, providing accuracy comparable to direct barrel contact with the center. Utilizing a Crown Saver effectively eliminates the possibility of swaging the rifling. It remains securely seated and does not rotate within the bore when the barrel is mounted in the lathe. The small size is compatible with bores ranging from .17 to .45 Cal. For optimal performance, avoid using the Crown Saver more than once on barrels of the same caliber.
