The Stainless Steel Heat Treat Foil, 24" x 24" piece, is designed to let you heattreat tool steels without needing an atmospherecontrolled furnace, preventing scale formation and eliminating hours of posttreatment cleanup. By sealing the part inside the foil, you maintain critical dimensions and avoid tolerance loss during heating. Simply clean the part, protect sharp corners with brown wrapping paper, wrap it tightly in the foil, and doublefold the edges to create a sealed envelope-many users press the seams with a wallpaper seam roller for a tight closure. Heattreat as normal, then open the foil to remove the part for air cooling or quenching. Don't forget - Gloves are essential, as the foil edges are extremely sharp.
