One stub is provided to the customer, while the store completes the repair tag and the other stub is retained by the store upon the customer's retrieval of the firearm. This process ensures comprehensive stub and number control of the firearm until it is returned to the customer. It effectively eliminates mix-ups and confusion, preventing improper claims by either the store or the customer.
