When we set out to design our CZ455 scope bases, our primary goal was to address the frustrating issue of bases that slide around over time. While simple dovetail/set screw bases may suffice for some, we wanted a more secure solution. Crafted from a 1-piece of T7075 aluminum and meticulously machined in-house on our HAAS VF4SS 4-axis machining center, our design slides onto the dovetail and is clamped down with consistent force across the entire rail, ensuring your CZ455 remains steadfast in place. To enhance stability, we've integrated a recoil lug at the rear of the base, creating a mechanical stop that prevents any unwanted movement. Each base is finished with a durable type III black hard-coat anodization and includes a necessary 2.5mm wrench for easy torquing of the clamp screws. The recommended torque specification is 22 in-lb (2.5 NM). Our rail features a 30 MOA can't, specifically designed for shooters pushing their .22LRs out to 300+ yd. Additionally, we've added extra real estate at the front of the rail, allowing for forward positioning of your optic. This is particularly beneficial for higher-powered scopes, especially when paired with the smaller stocks commonly found on rimfire rifles. While our base is slightly taller than popular set-screw models adding about 1/2 inches of height to the dovetail using lower-height rings or mounts will help maintain a similar over-bore height, ensuring a comfortable cheek weld without the need for a riser. In our commitment to providing thoughtful features, we also incorporated a built-in level into the base, flaring the material in that area to provide optimal visibility when shooting in the prone position, allowing for minimal movement.
